Why do you need a translator?


English is the first foreign language we learn. It is also one of the most important languages to learn to confidently navigate in a global world. Many Danes claim that they are very proficient English-speakers, and many people are, as we live in a country with a strong influence from the English-speaking world. We travel a lot and we watch films in the original language.

Therefore, many businesses choose to save money on translations because they feel that they can handle this type of task themselves. This is true in many cases. Problems arise when an important translation task is allocated to someone who does not possess the skills and who does not understand all the important details of such a task. If errors and misunderstandings occur when we communicate internationally with customers and business relations, the consequences could be serious. This is especially the case when dealing with commercial and legal documents, as well as technical instructions and guides.

What is a state-certified/certified translator and interpreter?

Until 2016, all qualified translators and interpreters were certified as state-authorised translators and interpreters if they met certain requirements. As a member of The Danish Association of Certified Translators and Interpreters, it is ensured that I continue to meet the same requirements as before.

Being a certified member of The Danish Association of Certified Translators and Interpreters means that the association can vouch for our professional background and guarantees that you will get a professional translator or interpreter when you need it.

I have many years experience of translation between English and Danish. My other fields of professional expertise are technical writing, terminology work, and translation management. 

I offer a wide range of services, which is your advantage, because very often the various subtasks are an integral part of the complete solution. I assist with both large projects and small tasks, and I understand and fulfill your need for flexibility. Rates

I base my work on the principle that a translation of high quality is worth the time and cost. I deliver on time according to your requirements. Generally, a quotation will be based on the amount of text/word count.

The following will have an impact on the total cost:

  • Complexity of the text
  • Text volume
  • The amount of dtp required
  • Format of the source text
  • Deadline

I follow the general guidelines and standard rates that govern translation and interpretation.

About Tine D. Anthony


I hold a Master’s degree (‘cand.ling.merc.’) in translation and interpretation, modern languages, Copenhagen Business School (1996). I received my official certification as a state-certified translator and interpreter in 1996. I have worked with many different types of translation tasks for several years, in different professions. Among others, these include the power electronics industry, solar power, software, and medicine. I have years of experience from businesses as a technical writer, confidently handling terminology, translation management, and authoring. 

I am very fortunate to have lived abroad (Scotland and USA), which has provided me with valuable skills. I am the right choice when it comes to identifying differences between British and American English.

Private life 

I live with my family on the beautiful island of Als, Denmark, where I work in a calm and peaceful setting amidst the inspiring scenery.

Many dictionaries and other online resources are available when you work electronically.

Very often, a link provides access to other databases and portals that can be difficult to take in and understand. Always use the well-established dictionaries from the traditional publishing houses (for example Cambridge, Oxford, Longman, Merriam-Webster’s).
